Erste "Hobby-Marihuana-Aktie" in Kanada gelistet
Nachdem bereits mehrere medizinische Marihuana-Aktien den Gang an die kanadische Börse gewagt haben folgt diesen nun die erste Firma, die sich nicht ausschließlich auf den medizinischen Bereich konzentriert:Nutritional High International Inc. , ehemals Sonoma Capital Inc.
Mit ihrem IPO Anfang des Monats sammelte die Firma 1,6 Mio. USD ein und wird seit heute an der Canadian Stock Exchange gehandelt. Während in Kanada lediglich medizinisches Marihuana legalisiert ist gibt diese Firma kanadischen Investoren die Möglichkeit, sich an der Legalisierungswelle des "Recreational-Marktes" Amerikas zu beteiligen.
"From an investor standpoint, we obviously feel the recreational market offers much more upside compared to the Canadian medicinal marijuana market," sagt David Posner, CEO von Nutritional High. "We have a large investor base in Canada that was very interested in getting into the U.S. marijuana industry, and we wanted to create a vehicle for that."
Die in Toronto ansässige Firma Nutritional High hat ihren Fokus auf die Herstellung und Entwicklung von Edibles und Hanfölen für den amerikanischen Markt, speziell Colorado wo diese Art der Geschäftstätigkeit legal und auf Landesebene reguliert ist.
Der Edibles-Markt weist im Gegensatz Ganja selbst extrem hohe Margen auf. Während herkömmliches Weed in Colorado zwischen 5-7 USD pro Gramm einbringt kann mit Hanfölen ein Preis zwischen 20-30 USD und mit Edibles sogar ein Verkaufspreis zwischen 25-30 USD erwirtschaftet werden.
"There's a gap in where the edibles are and where they need to be taken," said Melissa Parks, the company's head chef and a celebrity in the world of cannabis cuisine. "To come in with the edibles knowledge, and the machinery and know-how as far as food goes, really puts us at an advantage in comparison to some of the other companies."
