Nach einem Artikel der Calgary Harald baut Sunniva gerade ein 325.000 square-foot großes Gewächshaus in Cathedral City, Kalifornien, das bis zu 80.000 Kilogramm medizinisches Marihuana pro Jahr produzieren wird, sobald es im nächsten Frühjahr betriebsbereit sein wird. Zudem plane man Anfang nächsten Jahres ein weiteres 400.000 square-foot großes Gewächshaus in der südbritischen Stadt Oliver in Betrieb zu nehmen.
Sunniva ist bereits im Besitz eines Vaporizer-Produzentens Full Scale Distributors und eines Natural Health Services mit Sitz in Calgary, das bisher acht medizinische Kliniken betreibt, die Patienten in Alberta, Saskatchewan und Ontario beraten. "Aufgrund der Risiken südlich der Grenze werden börsengehandelte Cannabisfirmen die in den USA tätig sind, im Allgemeinen mit einem Abschlag gegenüber ihren kanadischen Konkurrenten gehandelt" , sagte Vahan Ajamian, Analyst bei Beacon Securities.

Through its subsidiary, CP Logistics, LLC, Sunniva is developing Sunniva Campus, a state-of-the-art, purpose-built greenhouse facility in Cathedral City, California. Sunniva Campus is planned in two Phases and has been designed to comply with cGMP* (Current Good Manufacturing Process) standards. Phase I includes 246,000 square feet of greenhouse with 78,000 square feet of header house and breezeway for a total of 324,000 square feet. The CPL Greenhouse Facility is expected to produce 81,000 kg per year of dry cannabis at capacity and approximately 50% of initial production will be converted into oils and extracts. Phase II is expected to increase the greenhouse by 180,000 square feet and increase production by approximately 45,000 kg per year. Sunniva Campus is designed to deploy custom, automation assembly line cultivation processes at scale. By using proven advanced technologies within our greenhouse facilities, we can expect to dramatically reduce labour costs, which typically exceed 50% of total cost of production within the cannabis industry. By harnessing one of California’s most abundant resources—the plentiful sunshine—we reduce our energy consumption, while utilizing dynamic and adaptive microclimatic controls to provide precise growing conditions. This boosts vigorous photosynthesis, growth, and resin production, while reducing the risk of certain types of fungal and pest infections commonly seen in indoor cultivation.
Nourished by full-spectrum natural sunlight, generous airflow and oxygenation, optimal temperature and humidity, and precise nutrient delivery, our techniques are expected to produce quality, clean-testing medical botanicals that will benefit our customers in an environmentally sound way.
Natural Health Services Ltd. ("NHS") - NHS owns and operates a network of medical clinics in Canada specializing in medical cannabis under ACMPR. NHS connects patients with safe and effective medical cannabis products through licensed producers. In-house physicians specializing in the endocannabinoid system provide expert consultation, education, and recommendations for targeted phytoceutical remedies and wellness plans to improve the quality of life for all patients. NHS' proprietary technology infrastructure assists physicians, patients, and licensed producers to comply with the rules of Health Canada.
